I started working with Susan Clancy in March 2015 when I was in the process of buying an Aviation Maintenance business out of examinership. It was a critical time in the process and I needed to make sure I had the right advisers. The business employs in excess of 220 people and had gone through a turbulent time. During the 12 months Susan has been involved in many aspects of the business and not just Lean. I have sought her advice on structure, strategy and people .She has also been involved in coaching some new senior managers. She was very hard working, bright and got to grips with the issues quickly as we transitioned the business from corporately owned to an owner manager. Susan has worked well at all levels of the organisation and we are now beginning to get traction from the Lean Process. We are now working toward a more self-reliant model with Susan’s help.
O Donovan Engineering Co Ltd embarked on our Lean Journey in June 2012, BPI were appointed as consultants. Susan has knowledge and experience which enabled our company to achieve our planned milestones during the journey. Having the support, understanding and flexibility for the duration of our programme was excellent.
I’ve worked with Susan to deliver process improvement in Healthcare and local government. The techniques used by Susan are applicable to any industry and can quickly highlight simple, sustainable process improvements.
We engaged BPI Services to work with us in 2016. I put forward our requirements to Susan and she assisted us in creating our own cross functional, multi-disciplined team which could approach issues in a structured and efficient manner. Susan’s combination of knowledge, experience and people skills allows her to seamlessly interact with both the technical and practical aspects as required, culminating in our internal team achieving the results that improved both our approach and processes. With Susan’s help we have reinvigorated our capacity to overcome problems ourselves, our own people have become change leaders and are confident in addressing the problems that we encounter through teamwork so that we can deliver the best for service for our Patients.
The process of change requires an organisation to understand where it is first, and then to devise a strategy for where it needs to get to! Susan and BPI Services helped us to identify our roadblocks early and to agree on a safe and efficient pathway to the optimum business processes. Susan fits into an organisation quickly and garners the trust and respect of the team which allows her to influence change from the very outset of each project.
Susan has worked with Astellas Ireland for a number of years on a variety of process improvement projects and training assignments. We have been found her approach to be structured, practical and effective, in tune with the realities of our environment and able to deliver results. BPI Services are a valued partner for Astellas Ireland as we continue to improve our performance and build our operational excellence skills and capability.
We engaged with BPI Services in 2012 through the Enterprise Ireland Lean Business Offer. Our interaction with both Susan Clancy and Donal O’Leary has been extremely positive, leading to bottom line cost savings, improved processes and better equipped personnel within our organisation. Their knowledge of process improvement methods, combined with their ability to transfer their expertise has greatly benefited AMS.
In March 2012, we began our Lean journey with Lean Sigma Systems. The engagement of our staff on the programme has been extremely rewarding due to the facilitative nature of both Susan Clancy & Donal O’Leary. Lean Sigma Systems is our chosen Lean partner due to the approach that they have taken with our company, how they interact with our staff and how well they work with our internal Lean champion. They have driven significant savings across our organisation and we have no hesitancy in recommending them.
The service, support and training provided by you and your company ensured that our employees developed the skills to successfully complete green belt projects. The deliverables at each stage of the training were clearly identified. The offsite support and mentoring was crucial to the team’s success. In addition Susan worked closely with the project sponsors and management team in ensuring the company objectives were achieved. A great success.
BPI Services have been working with our team for the past few years. Over this time their understanding of teamwork has enabled them to fit in very well with our business and help people understand process and improvement. Susan is excellent at broad based vision and is open to discuss change or strategy as seamlessly as continuous improvement projects. After all they are intrinsically linked and Susan understands and connects with that. She is non-threatening and engaging and that is a hugely valuable asset when delivering and challenging mind-sets.
Lean Sigma Systems have helped Avid use Lean and Six Sigma tools to drive real cost savings and shorter cycle times in a number of key business processes. I would strongly endorse the Green & Black belt programmes as very good value investments which generate almost instant payback.
A really professionally run course, enjoyable yet challenging. Lean Sigma Systems ensured that there was a great balance between practical and theory. It’s the one course I found extremely relevant to the workplace. This course definitely improved my work prospects and I would highly recommend Lean Sigma Systems as the course provider.
Susan has worked with me over a number of years on several projects. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience and has been a great support to myself. I was lucky enough that she introduced me to other key stakeholders in other companies which were able to offer assistance and to share ideas.
When I started the course, my expectations were not really high. Knowing that Six Sigma started in manufacturing and still widely used in this industry, and working for a hotel company, I didn’t expect a lot. However, as soon as it started I found many processes and ideas that can be used in my industry. When I started applying some of the processes, they really made lot of sense. I am so happy that I took the course and would recommend it to anyone who is working on improving quality of their work either in the manufacturing or in the services.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt was a great course that really helped develop skills I didn’t know I had. It has given me the confidence to know that I can manage a project from start to finish with great results at the end. This specific course helped me produce a report that we had been asking for, for almost 1 year. This report has already helped to increase performance. The % of issues resolved on first contact has jumped from 11.7% to 31.64%. I can’t wait to take my skills to the next level with Lean Sigma.
Tytex Ireland Limited have used Lean Sigma Systems Limited for training people to Six Sigma Green Belt level in October 2009. The training was carried out in-house to facilitate the immediate integration of learning into predetermined projects for all participants. The training was excellent with regard to course material and learner participation. All Tytex Ireland Limited participants passed with regard to the project presentation and Green Belt examination. I would have no hesitation in recommending Lean Sigma Systems Ltd to any organisation for similar training.
Lean Sigma System has provided us with an excellent service which was tailored to the needs of Medisize Ireland Ltd. Their trainers facilitate in a way which allows attendees to interact, while learning skills and knowledge which can be applied to their individual roles. The presenter was extremely professional and the materials used was practical clear and concise. They have also provided excellent one to one coaching to staff which was found to be extremely beneficial by both the trainee and to Medisize Ireland Ltd. We would highly recommend Lean Sigma Systems to potential companies.
Lean Sigma Systems were the perfect partner for us to roll out our lean six sigma programme. I had experience of lean six sigma and wanted a very specific curriculum. Susan delivered exactly as requested and provided excellent ongoing support to the trainees when completing their projects. Susan’s broad knowledge and flexibility is exactly what we needed with a partner for this type of training.
Having worked at a senior level within a multinational organisation that was an active practitioner of six sigma I never seemed to have the time to fully understand and appreciate the benefits that could be garnered from its application nor challenge those tasked with completing the six sigma projects. By completing and getting certified in both the green and black belt programmes offered by Lean Sigma Systems I got a much greater understanding of the full scope of where six sigma techniques could be applied and was much more challenging of those tasked with completing six sigma projects within my area. The programme was very hands on and the materials provided made it very easy to study for the exam. The ongoing support for the projects was critical in developing the ability to utilise the tools while at the same time delivering a business benefit to the organisation. This is an excellent way of upgrading your personal learning portfolio and meeting peers from other organisations and industries enhances the learning experience.
Before receiving training, I had a passing awareness of Lean and Six Sigma processes and tools. The challenge for me was how I could translate techniques that were designed ostensibly for manufacturing into a language that suited the needs of the service sector. I have been on training courses in the past where so much time was spent on theory and not enough on practical application, but the training Susan gave was very helpful to bridge the gap in my own understanding of how these pieces could be pulled together, and then used in an effective way for business improvement. The structure of the training; where in-class learning ran in parallel with Six Sigma business projects was not only enormously helpful to internalising what we had learned, but also invaluable in forming a Lean/Six Sigma culture within the organisation as we worked through on-site business challenges.
